Meet the Artist
Recognized by her moniker “Jobella,” Joy Kirton emerges as a Barbadian Graphic Designer and self-taught multimedia artist, currently establishing her artistic base in Toronto.
From her early days, Joy’s devotion to art has been unwavering. Utilizing every any paper she could find, she would transform them into canvases for her imaginative doodles and drawings. This inherent artistic inclination led her to pursue Graphic Design in British Columbia in 2016, following her graduation from the University of the West Indies.
Motivated by an innate urge to expand her creative boundaries, Joy established Design Geek Studios in 2018. Through this platform, she offers her expertise in Graphic Design and Branding, crafting visual identities that reflect her clients’ stories. Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, Joy rekindled her connection with traditional art forms, a passion that has grown unexpectedly. As a result, her repertoire now encompasses both traditional and digital paintings.
